Fire.fm Music Toolbar

Monday, Mar 22, 2010

Fire.fm is the ultimate add-on for the music buff. Listen to music from your favorite artists and discover new music in the process. Enjoy direct access to the extensive Last.fm music library.

Whether you like Bossa Nova, Metal, Classical, or Country, the Fire.fm Firefox Add-on can help you find music you love when you’re online. Fire.fm is a music toolbar that lets you create your own custom radio stations from the vast catalog of songs and artists offered by popular online music service Last.fm. Using Fire.fm, I can listen to Jack Johnson and Snow Patrol, plus my favorite U2 hits from the 80s in seconds.

Before you can start using Fire.fm, you will need to sign up for a Last.fm account. You can create an account by clicking on the icon labeled “Log in to Last.fm icon” on the toolbar.

To set up your stations, just click on the icon to the left of the play button and select “Start a Station.” Fire.fm will start playing music from the station within seconds.

To listen to recently played stations, select “recent stations” from the same menu. Fire.fm also lets you hear music from related artists so the possibilities for discovering new songs and artists you’ll love are pretty good.

So rock your Firefox and your day   :)   with Fire.fm!

You neglected to mention the important information that it simply won’t work in most countries.

Yeah, but doesn’t last.fm only give you a limited time to listen to the radio stations and then you have to purchase a subscription of some sort?

Yeah, ROCK YOUR FIREFOX, that is if you live in 2 or 3 countries.

And the recommendation system is one of the worst there is. Choose artists similar to Rollings Stones and you get hard rock, death metal and rap metal…

Yup, three bucks a month to use Last.fm. Not a lot, but it would have been nice to know that BEFORE going to the trouble to join. Sheesh.

i believe its unusual if you have to pay last fm so you can use it.
I used to listen to last fm for 2 years and suddently they i asked me to pay 3e per month to continue listen to.
at least for the older users of last fm that we support this site from the start they shouldnt ask us to pay.
So as a conclusion a think that fire.fm in collaboration with last fm is something that wont work for me

Now that LastFM charges, I can file it in my official “this website now sucks” folder. I’ll be sticking with jango and shoutcast, since it now has a toolbar also, and way cooler than this digital dung heap

Thank you Skiddy joe for your “cooler toolbar” options.
I don’t like the way Monzilla suggests this tool bar as their add on, then tricks you into a user fee after installing it.

I have never had to pay last.fm. I have had an account since 2005. Do they do this in certain countries or everywhere?

My complaint is that when I tried to do this it just doesn’t work.

Last FM has never been my favorite….It does stop after some time…and I believe that the internet resources should be available to all countries and it is simply not supported in Last FM.
