Destroy The Web

Thursday, Apr 8, 2010

Relieve stress and have fun with this simple little game that works on any web page.

It’s the middle of the week- deadlines are looming, your team just lost the championship, and the taco truck just left before you could grab a quick lunch.  What to do?

The Firefox icon beckons to you, offering the multitude of distractions the internet has to offer– but you don’t really have the time to catch up on the news.  Thankfully, you can just spend 30 seconds on Destroying The Web.

Destroy The Web turns any web page into an arcade game.  Click the toolbar button and pulse-pounding music starts blaring- it’s time to play!

Click on any part of the web page, and it explodes with a satisfying classic arcade boom.  Get combos by destroying related bits of the page, and you have only 30 seconds to blow up as much of the page as you can.  Finish the round and compare your high score to see how you stack up against other players on that page.

OK, so maybe this was a little more of a break than you originally intended, but don’t you feel much better now?

Post by Nick Nguyen, who can always use a break. See all posts by Nick Nguyen.

It is incredibly great experience. The best thing it is expected to be free of bugs and viruses as it comes with tested and approved by Mozilla.

No, it just takes the words off the screen and lets you edit them. (in this case blow them up)… when you refresh no harm is done to website.

I think it would be better to put screen shots without a skin that makes FF looks like one of its rivals…

What are you talking about? What skin? :S
It’s what it looks like normally on a Mac.

I can actually vouch for that. Mac uses too much damn white and light grey. I want my BLACK and I want it with BLOOD RED text to symbolize my computer’s DOMINANCE over yours!

Seriously though, black is much easier on the eyes and LCD monitor.

I’d wish you guys use Windows and Linux versions of Firefox also to display these addons…

CONSIDERING a higher % of windows users are Firefox users, and Firefox is the browser of choice for linux

And not all Firefox users are mac-fanboys

Why would it matter what operating system these guys use, that has nothing to do with any of this. Even though there’s a high percentage of Windows/Linux users use Firefox, doesn’t mean they have to go out and get a different operating system to the one they already have just so they can make a small screenshot.

Mac is a cool OS. And so is Linux. And Windows (kind of).
So, like Liam said, it shouldn’t really matter. After all, we are talking about the add-on, not Firefox.

I installed it and firefox crashed immediately after that. I could not open it and tried deleting and re-downloading firefox, but it did not work. Now my firefox cannot be opened again, even the crash-reporter could not recognize the problem.
