WiseStamp Email Signature

Monday, May 17, 2010

Create a custom webmail signature, complete with an image or logo. Link to your blog, website and your choice of over 48 social networks. Your signature shows up in every email you send, automatically.

Know those friendly mailing address labels that show up in your mailbox on occasion? They’re usually from a great national charity like the Sierra Club, Habitat for Humanity or UNICEF. They have your name and address printed on them and they’re yours to keep, whether you make a donation or not (kind of like Firefox Add-ons). And they’re useful, just like WiseStamp.

This add-on is the same concept as the address labels, it’s just made for the Web.  You build your signature and tack it on all your webmail accounts, like Gmail and Yahoo.

After you install WiseStamp, a rubber-stamp icon appears in the lower right of your browser. Click that and start with “Edit Signature”, or go Tools -> WiseStamp from your browser menu to get started.

Rich text editor lets you modify text intuitively for a truly customized look. Create both a personal and a business signature and designate one as default. Add an image or your logo as well as links to your website and blog. A menu of 48 options lets you choose the social networking sites you want to list.

Then when you log onto your webmail, your signature shows up automatically, where you can see it as you compose a message. And of course, your recipients see your signature whenever they get a message from you.

WiseStamp has a great screencast showing all the ins and outs of how to use their add-on:

It’s nice to know who is authoring an email, so if you aren’t already using WiseStamp, get set up now. Friends, family and coworkers will love you for it.

    Interesting application.
Considering this is a Firefox application, have you considered compatibility with the Firefox email program “Thunderbird”?

In the image above the video:”If you realy”…is incorrect in all English accents.

Please include spell-check in WiseStamp, and save us all the embarrassment?!

Andrew, it works beautifully with Thunderbird. I use it all the time since I switched email progams, and WiseStamp was one of the reasons I switched. I just wish WiseStamp supported more than two signatures.

Would it be possible to add a picture as well? It would enhance the email I’m sending to people!

I like the product, but it does create a bit of a dilemma. The product allows you to use a custom, HTML signature where on-line mail services typically restrict your options (GMail, and even Yahoo Mail). If you install this on your copy of Firefox, you can delete those automatic but plain, boring signatures that the online mail service allows. But if you use other computers regularly to send email, do you really want to do that and have to rewrite your signature each time? Not really. But your only other option is to leave your on-line email services automatic signature active and delete it each time you write an email using your own computer with Firefox/WiseStamp.

If I could figure out a way around this dilemma, I would heartily endorse this add-on. As it is, I can only endorse it with some caveats.

I have been using wisestamp for some time and specially I use Chrome browser along with Wisestamp addon..
I really like the new social network feature.. More over I have seen showing your latest tweet in the signature is a good practice as it increased my Twitter followers…
Still working on designing my signature and making most out of it….

Hi, is it possible to upload an image from my computer into WiseStamp? There are no instructions on how to do this in their help. A URL is necessary. Thanks!
