Know those friendly mailing address labels that show up in your mailbox on occasion? They’re usually from a great national charity like the Sierra Club, Habitat for Humanity or UNICEF. They have your name and address printed on them and they’re yours to keep, whether you make a donation or not (kind of like Firefox Add-ons). And they’re useful, just like WiseStamp.
This add-on is the same concept as the address labels, it’s just made for the Web. You build your signature and tack it on all your webmail accounts, like Gmail and Yahoo.
After you install WiseStamp, a rubber-stamp icon appears in the lower right of your browser. Click that and start with “Edit Signature”, or go Tools -> WiseStamp from your browser menu to get started.
Rich text editor lets you modify text intuitively for a truly customized look. Create both a personal and a business signature and designate one as default. Add an image or your logo as well as links to your website and blog. A menu of 48 options lets you choose the social networking sites you want to list.
Then when you log onto your webmail, your signature shows up automatically, where you can see it as you compose a message. And of course, your recipients see your signature whenever they get a message from you.
WiseStamp has a great screencast showing all the ins and outs of how to use their add-on:
It’s nice to know who is authoring an email, so if you aren’t already using WiseStamp, get set up now. Friends, family and coworkers will love you for it.
