FootieFox

A glance at your browser window gives up-to-date football (soccer) scores. A subtle way to stay on top of your team’s status, with plenty of portals for diving in deep. Tracks over 200 leagues and 60 countries.

With all the buzz about the World Cup and with team passion reaching a worldwide peak, we’d be remiss not to give a nod to an add-on that tracks the latest football (soccer) scores.

FootieFox lets you do your homework, real work, or whatever else you do on the Web and never lose sight of who is winning important matches.

Installing FootieFox is simple. You might notice a few more disclaimers than with most add-ons, but otherwise it’s a seamless experience. I’m doing everything in English, and when I installed, I was prompted to opt in to a partnered experience with Kicker.

It appears that the partnerships have to do with language, and I think the idea is that you get the best experience in your language if you opt for the partnership.

Once you’ve installed FootieFox, look in the lower right of your browser window and find:

1) a shield and football (soccer) icon, or

2) the name of the partner (in the image below, you can see: “kicker”)

A single click on the far right arrow lets you start with ‘Options’ and set things up to follow your favorite team and most important matches. Once you’ve configured options, that same single click shows upcoming matches and lets you navigate easily to learn more:

Clicking team icons or the partner name takes you to detailed information offered by the partner:

If you right click a team icon, you get more details too:

When there’s an active match in progress, you’ll see this in your browser bar:

In addition to FootieFox, don’t miss the Firefox Cup. It’s a great program packed with Personas to help promote team passion.
