GetGlue

GetGlue helps you find your next favorite movie, book, or music album. Visit sites like Amazon, IMDB, and Wikipedia, and see recommendations. Share your own opinions and connect with friends.

GetGlue is a great way to make your leisure time as enjoyable and relevant as possible. It’s a simple concept: when you visit sites for books, movies or music, GetGlue suggests things you might like. You’ll see a strip of suggestions at the bottom of the page you’re browsing:

Hover over a suggestion and see all sorts of info. For movies, tabs let you page through a main description, trailer, links to ticket purchases, social networking connections and more:

It’s clear that the more you use GetGlue, the more you get out of it. You build friend networks and can discover reviewers who consistently recommend things you like (kind of like the “staff recommends” shelf at your local video or bookstore):

Most of the time GetGlue lives as a tiny glue-bottle icon in the bottom right of your browser. The icon basically takes you to the GetGlue homepage or gives you quick links to  sharing experiences:

GetGlue recently enabled users to “check in” to their favorite shows, music, movies and books. Share what you are reading, watching or listening and see what your friends are doing, all in real time.

You’ll earn branded stickers when you check in to popular shows like Dexter and Weeds; new movies, like Scott Pilgrim vs the World or Clash of the Titans; and new books, including The Passage and The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo. You get the idea: in a glance, people can recognize what you’re paying attention to.

If you’re well connected and love media in all forms, GetGlue could start working for you right away. If you’re not at the top of your social networking game, no worries, it will just take some time to build your connections and receive the most relevant recommendations.

Glue gives you a great resource for rating and reviewing your favorite books, movies, music and topics. Your opinion is welcome and you can review what other Glue members think. Seamless integration with Facebook and/or Twitter if you like. If you like “free stuff” Glue “Guru’s” win books and movies tickets regularly. Be careful though – Glue is addictive.
