Sxipper has been with me from the beginning. It’s hard enough to crank out an array of original, high-security passwords laced with numerals and characters, but then you have to remember them? Not anymore.
Usernames can vary too—from your email address (which one?!) to first name/last initial or first name only, and autogenerated choices like elise876. Yikes.
Sxipper is a secure and simple add-on that saves my username and password for any given site and remembers them the next time I visit. Even if that visit is months later. If I have two accounts for the same site, Sxipper prompts me with different possible usernames. I don’t even have to remember the first letter:
These days Firefox has Password Manager built in, and it covers some of the same bases as Sxipper. But Sxipper takes things a bit further, like helping you with forms. You create “personas” (not to be confused with the Personas we feature occasionally to dress up your Firefox) which include info like your name and address. Each Sxipper persona saves the name, address, phone, and other info you designate. Users might have a “business” and a “personal” persona, for example:
And you always have the option of choosing the “dummy” email for added privacy:
Some users may find the Password Manager that’s built into Firefox to be plenty, but give Sxipper a try and see if the extra help makes your life easier.
