Like steamed asparagus and comedic punch lines, today’s review is all about timing. While I type, the 6th annual BlogHer Conference is under way at The Hilton New York.
Conference attendees can drop by Mozilla’s hospitality suite (#4339) and check out the full Mozilla schedule. Meet the Firefox team, including Sarah Doherty, Mary Colvig, Marcia Knous, Justin Scott, Jorge Villalobos and Brian King. Ask in-person questions about customizing your Firefox, and explore the new BlogHer Add-on Collection created especially for bloggers.
As the largest community of women who blog, BlogHer.com exists “to create opportunities for women who blog to gain exposure, education, community and economic empowerment.” Content is well categorized and curated, while still conversational and open.
And as of today, everyone can try out the BlogHer Add-on. First you’ll want to create a BlogHer.com account. Pretty standard stuff:

Once you install the BlogHer Add-on, it detects your account. You’ll see the experience in your browser and can start using it right away:

Working left to right, you get instant access to the most relevant BlogHer content. “Topics” reveals categories like Career, Life, Moms, and Pop Culture. Each of those leads to articles of interest:

“Updates” is next, also with highly relevant info, organized in a different way. Depending on how and when you use BlogHer, you might prefer to start here instead of “Topics”:

BlogHer.com is perfect social media. You can read what matters to you and easily join the conversation—or not. If you’re new to BlogHer, visit the “My BlogHer” part of the site and decide how much you want to be involved. If you choose, you can post your status in “Chatter” right from your browser:

Access your My BlogHer page from a drop-down menu on your browser:

And a “Share” menu is provided to help spread the word:

One take away? Relevance! BlogHer has aced organization so you benefit instantly from content breadth, without searching around for what you care about most. The BlogHer Add-on is a must for anyone who spends time reading the Web.
In the spirit of BlogHer, you’ll also find a collection of add-ons for bloggers and blog readers. The BlogHer Collection includes add-ons like Feed Sidebar, Morning Coffee, Read It Later, ScribeFire, Shareaholic, Textarea Cache, and Yoono.
