Fox Splitter

See multiple sites in a single browser window.

I learned early on not to poke fun of schizophrenia in my writing. Wise mentors taught me that split-personality jokes are cheap and generally don’t sell more ice cream (with or without bananas).

I also learned that schizophrenics do not necessarily have split-personality disorder. They’re also not “goof balls”; but we all agreed that was closest to what I intended in my writing.

No matter how the pathology is named, mocking people struggling with mental illness is a no-go.

That said, Fox Splitter makes your view of the Web a fractured and fabulous fantasy of the mind. It may cause disorientation and confusion for some, but for others it does what tabs only tease: we truly see multiple pages at once.

Install the add-on and find an additional option in your browser menu:

Start by opening a single site, and continue your browsing by splitting that view:

See new sites to the right, left, above or below:

Or tile all your tabs in a click:

Which can get intense:

Fox Splitter will either give you a better grip on browsing or send you to the brink. Just remember: when you can’t find a place to click, it’s no longer real…

Post from Elise Allen, who quotes Lenny Bruce often: “just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you”. See all posts by Elise Allen.

It will perhaps be easy for those wearing glasses, since there is no need to move their necks up and down clicking on tabs. Yet, those with smaller monitors may have difficulties if they go on splitting too much.

I just have to say that this is what I’ve needed for a long time, I am kind of OCD or… something, constantly viewing multiple pages and sites at once, pretty much can’t stay on just one page, even if I don’t actually need the other page.. so this is great. This might be the best add-on I’ve gotten for Firefox yet. Thanks.

This is something I’ve wanted for a long time – I can’t wait to share it with my friends at work. It might not make sense on a small screen, but ona large one, it’s very nice.

    I love it! Thank you!

It’s wonderful! I would say it’s awesome, but “awesome” is related to some other project (which is, by accident, quite similar to this) ;)
Thanks a lot, this add-on is exactly the one I’ve been looking for.

I stream music and use the splitter to display the scroll of the artist, song, etc above my tabs.
