In these busy days of social networking and online sharing tools, it’s easy to lose track of the rest of the Web — your email in particular. If you’re like me, and have amassed multiple email accounts over the years, remembering to check each one for updates when you’re off wandering around the Web can feel like a bit of a chore.
WebMail Notifier makes it easy and automatic. Once you install the add-on, simply add your email accounts and WebMail Notifier will check your inbox for new arrivals.
The usual suspects are supported (Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo), plus you can add POP3 and IMAP email services. WebMail Notifier’s default check interval is 10 minutes, but you can configure it to check more or less often as your email requirements demand.
When you receive a new email, you get a discreet alert in the bottom right hand corner that you can click to visit your accounts. While you’re browsing, WebMail Notifier keeps track of your unread email at the bottom of your window. A single click on the mail icon opens your inboxes in tabs, while a right click gives you the option of a pop out window or sidebar to get a more detailed overview of your individual accounts and email folders.
